Captain Scott Altman is a retired United States Navy Captain and former NASA astronaut. During the course of his career, Altman logged more than 4,000 flight hours in over forty different types of aircraft, including over 40 days in space.
Altman earned many honors and medals of distinction during his naval career, including a Navy Air Medal for his service as a strike leader in Southern Iraq during Operation Southern Watch. He is also known for performing many of the aerial stunts in the movie Top Gun.
